There was a burglary on the 1500 block of First St. SW.

There were thefts on:

  • the 800 block of H St. NE from a specialty store;

  • the 1500 block of First St. SW;

  • the 1400 block of L St. SE.

There were cars stolen on:

  • the 600 block of Water St. SW;

  • the 700 12th St. SE.

There were thefts from automobiles on:

  • the 600 block of Water St. SW;

  • the 400 block of Seventh St. SE.

Crimes of Violence

There was an assault with a deadly weapon in PSA 106 in a car on March 24 at 6 a.m.

There were two incidents of shoplifting at a grocery on the 1600 block of Maryland Ave. NE.

Crimes of Violence

There was an assault with the deadly weapon involving a gun on the 1800 block of Benning Rd. on March 23 at 11 a.m.

There was an assault with a deadly weapon on the 1800 block of Benning Rd. NE on March 23 at 8:30 p.m.

There was a sexual assault on the 1500 block of Second St. SW on March 23 at 4 p.m. in a residence.

March 23rd

DC United Summer Camps Open for Registration

DC United Summer Camps registration is now open. The camps include the popular summer camp series at DC United's Training Complex at RFK, two Striker/Goalkeeper camps also at DC United's Training Complex and several week-long camps at satellite locations around the area. Series 1, 2 and 3, at RFK Stadium, will feature First Team player appearances from Brandon McDonald, Chris Pontius, Nick DeLeon, Lewis Neal, Perry Kitchen and Dejan Jakovic. The Striker/Goalkeeper camps will also feature First Team player appearances from Carlos Ruiz, Bill Hamid and Chris Pontius.

Details Emerge on 17 St. Assault

As reported in The Blotter, there was an assault with a deadly weapon on 17 St. between D and E Streets SE on March 21 at 4:22 p.m.

A man approached another on the 400 block of 17 ST. SE. He opened a folding knife and threatened violence. The victim fled and flagged down a First District officer, who disarmed the attacker and placed him under arrest. No one was injured.

Arrest Made In Fatal Pedestrian Hit and Run

On March 21 at approximately 8 p.m., 71-year-old Ruby Whitfeld, a resident of Northeast DC, was walking across Florida Ave. NE at a crosswalk on the 1100 block was struck by a 2010 Mercury Mountaineer traveling eastbound in the right lane. The driver fled the scene. Despite the efforts of DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services, who transported the victim to a local hospital, Whitfeld died of her injuries.

There was a robbery in PSA 107 on March 20 at 11:18 a.m.

There was an assault with a deadly weapon on the 1800 block of Benning Rd. NE on March 20 at 6:24 p.m.
