Armed Carjacking Early Sunday in Northeast

Weekend Crime Blotter

At 2:12 a.m. Sunday morning, police from the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) responded to reports of an armed carjacking in the 1800 block of I Street NE.

Two women were waiting for their companions in the car parked in the back alley at that address when the car was approached by four people. One suspect came to the passenger side with a handgun and said, “give me all your stuff and get out of the vehicle.”

At the same time, another suspect went to the driver’s side and told the driver, “give me your phone and get on the ground.”

Two additional suspects stood at the rear of the vehicle, an Acura TL, but said nothing.

The two women in the car complied, getting out of the vehicle, leaving their possessions and those of their companions in the car. The four suspects got into the car and fled westbound on the 1800 block of Maryland NE.
