The Capitol Hill Community Foundation Asks You to Help Frager's!

Frager's Pop Up Plant Shop opens noon Sunday at Eastern Market

Dear Neighbors,

At the invitation of the City, Frager's will open a Pop Up Shop selling plants and pottery pots at Eastern Market on the site of the temporary South Hall, and we hope you will be there at noon to demonstrate your support for Frager's.  Mayor Gray and Councilmember Wells will be there, too, for a press conference at noon.  Be sure to wear your Frager's t-shirt.

Here's an idea.  Let's all go and buy every single plant that survived the fire!  What a true Capitol Hill community story this will be, and we can easily make it happen together.  If you garden is full (impossible), plant all the tree boxes on your block.  Think anniversary gift, hostess gift, Father's Day gift.  Endless possibilities, all in tribute to the spirit of Frager's.

We also want you to know that the Capitol Hill Community Foundation has established a special fund to provide help as needed in the aftermath of the June 5th Frager's Hardware fire.  Neighbors concerned about the store's employees and others who may have been impacted are encouraged to make a donation online, or you can come to the Foundation tent at Eastern Market on Saturdays and Sundays through June (and likely beyond).  Contributions can also be mailed to 419 East Capitol St. SE, Washington DC 20003.

Finally, a website has been created,, that will allow you to keep track of future fundraisers for the Frager's Fund as well as news from Frager's as time goes on.

See you at Eastern Market!
