Frager's plans to reopen, reports Andrew Lightman, Managing Editor of Capital Community News, today. Owner John Weintraub confirmed that he plans to rebuild. The company was insured; and will be able to make its next payroll. This will come as a huge relief to the hundreds of residents who cannot imagine Capitol Hill without Frager's.

Frager's asks that customers send payments for open invoices to the company at 409 4th Street, SE, Washington DC. 20003.

Residents wishing to donate to Frager's, may contribute here to a special fund being created at the Capitol Hill Community Foundation (CHCF) to provide help as needed in the aftermath of the fire.

CHCF set up a similar fund after the Eastern Market fire. Most of the money was used to replace lost income of the employees of the Market while it was being rebuilt. Like Eastern Market, Frager's has many long term employees, whom they would like to retain and support at this difficult time.

CHCF is an established 501(c)3 with appropriate accountability for collection and proper distribution of donations. Donations to this fund will be tax-deductible.
