How to Donate Materials to Community Forklift

Donations from the community and local businesses are the lifeblood of Community Forklift's retail store. They accept surplus and salvage building materials, vintage architectural elements, select vintage furniture and home goods, and other interesting odds and ends that they think their customers might want. They resell these goods to create green jobs, donate building materials to low income community members, support arts and other non-profit organizations and provide low cost materials to the general community.

Community Forklift's primary focus is building materials; that is, the items you would find at a hardware store or home improvement center. They reserve the right to accept or reject items on a case-by-case basis, depending on their condition and on how many items we already have stocked in that category. The list of acceptable items may change at any time. They do not have a dumpster for general use, so unfortunately you are unable to leave rejected items with them. It's always best to call if you have any questions at 301-985-5180. Materials may be dropped-off at the store or they offer free pick-up. Open Tuesday, noon-6:00 p.m.; Wednesday-Friday, 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.; Saturday-Sunday, 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Community Fortlift, 4671 Tanglewood Drive, Edmonston, MD 20781. communityforklift.com
