List of Local Closures for #DayWithoutImmigrants

Several Ward 6 Businesses Close Feb. 16 in Solidarity

Several Capitol Hill, Union Market and H Street businesses have closed for the day Feb. 16 to support the #DayWithoutImmigrants movement around the country.

In protest of the Trump Administration's crack down on undocumented immigrants, owners of restuarants and businesses who either are immigrants, employ them or support them chose to shut their doors Thursday in solidarity. The intent — show the country what America would look like without immigrants.

Here's a list of local closures:

  • Acqua al 2 (212 Seventh St. SE)
  • Belga Cafe (514 Eighth St. SE)
  • DC Empanadas (1309 Fifth St. NE), Union Market (and food Truck)
  • District Fishwife (1309 Fifth St. NE)
  • Hank's Oyster Bar (633 Pennsylvania Ave. SE)
  • Pow Pow (1253 H St. NE)
  • Sweetgreent (221 Pennsylvania Ave. SE)
  • TaKorean (Union Market, Yards, National Place)
  • Ted's Bulletin (505 Eighth St. SE) evening
  • Toki Underground (1234 H St. NE)
  • Lavagna (539 Eighth St. SE) evening

We will add more as we see them (or send it other participating businesses to christine@hillrag.com).
