The National Capital Bank of Washington (NCB) has been awarded honorable mention in the National Community Service Awards, presented by the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA). The awards recognize exceptional and outstanding volunteer efforts of community banks throughout the nation.

Recognized for its commitment to and involvement with the Capitol Hill Community, NCB has supported neighborhood organizations and business throughout its 125 year history. NCB has provided financial services, resources, time and human talent to the community.

Instrumental in NCB efforts was the establishment of the National Capital Bank of Washington Foundation, a foundation advised by donors that supports youth, education and social services. Since its creation, the foundation has donated more than $1.7 million to local organizations. NCB employees give them more than 500 volunteer hours every year.

NCB has a distinguished record of charitable giving through the foundation, having supported notable projects like the Hill Center, Capitol Hill Baseball and Softball, the rebuilding of Eastern Market, and scores of other projects and nonprofit organizations.

Randy Anderson, NCB's President and CEO said of this award, "This is a testament to our employees and management's commitment to our core mission of adding value to the community.  We are fortunate to have the opportunity to serve and make a difference for so many local organizations who provide vital services to our communities."

The National Capital Bank was founded in 1889 and is Washington’s oldest bank. Headquarters are located right here on Capital Hill at 316 Pennsylvania Ave. SE. A second branch located in Friendship Heights, as well as a residential mortgage office and a wealth management services office.
