Restaurateur Xavier Cervera Returns to the Hill

Hawk'n'Dove and Seven Other Bars Revert to Former Owners

Xavier Cervera is back on Capitol Hill.

The saga of Barracks Row Holdings LLC, the purchasers of the storied The Hawk'n'Dove and seven other Capitol Hill establishments, continues. According to unnamed sources, the corporation has defaulted on its bankruptcy agreement with its sellers: William Sport, Xavier Cervera and Andrea Gentile. The restaurants and bars will revert to their prior owners pending approval by the District of Columbia and the landlords.

The Boxcar Tavern, once a part of the group, is unaffected by these developments, since it had already been transferred under an earlier agreement.

Xavier Cervera will be returning to Capitol Hill to oversee the restaurants' transition.

Steven Gremminger, attorney for the principal shareholders of Barracks Row EMT, stated, “We wish the new owners every success.”

The bars and restaurants impacted include: Pacifico Cantina (514 Eighth St. SE), The Hawk'n'Dove (329 Pennsylvania Ave. SE) Molly Malone's (713 Eighth St. SE), Lola's Barracks Row Bar & Grill (711 Eighth St. SE), The Chesapeake Room, Senart's Oyster & Chop House, Willie's Brew & Que (300 Tingey St. SE); and II Parco (200 M St. SE).
