US Fitness bought the former Results Gym (315 G St. SE) in May. The former Results Gym closed suddenly in March when club managers Peak Performance failed to keep up on lease payments. Landlord and founder of Sport & Health Cwi Steiman quickly stepped in to reopen the gym as manager. He then sold it to US Fitness, which in 2014 bought Steiman’s 22 other DC Metro Area Sport & Health clubs.

Now re-branded as Sport & Health Club, the 65,000 square-foot Capitol Hill gym plans to keep the current employees and class instructors. The new owner plans to invest $2 million to renovate the location and buy the latest equipment:

  • new strength and cardio machines;

  • functional and turf workout areas;

  • more group exercise classes;

  • new group cycling bicycles;

  • Pilates, yoga and barre classes;

  • more Kidz Klub options;

  • and renovated locker rooms.

“We were very excited because we had been looking in the area,” said Nancy Terry, senior vice president of marketing for Sport & Health. “It’s a really active area and the community is very fitness oriented.”

The group feels welcomed by the community and can’t wait to bring new state-of-the-art equipment, programs and classes for neighbors to use, Terry said. And it’s a great location on Capitol Hill.

US Fitness has investments in fitness clubs including Crunch, UFC Gym, Hard Candy and Energy Fitness.
