Thinking of getting rid of unused items hanging around the house? Consider donating them before May 6 to the Miner Elementary Community Yard Sale, hosted by the school’s Parent Teacher Organization (PTO).
To drop items off, stop by the school at 601 15th St. NE between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Visitors need a photo ID to check in at the front office and then can drop the donations off down the hallway, past the boys restroom and in room 146.
Miner’s PTO is looking for gently used household items for the sale: books, clothes, toys, games, strollers, bicycles, home items, etc. The will also accept furniture, but only during the week before the May 6 sale. They can’t accept cribs or car seats.
The PTO will hold the sale that Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at the school, and they do accept both cash and credit. All proceeds made from the sale will go to support the PTO’s fund and mini grants for the teachers and school clubs.
Bonus: Miner’s PTO is a registered 501c3 charity, so donations can count as a write off on taxes.
