Ward 8 Democrats Meeting on DC Crime Prevention Legislation

Are you interested in serving as a member of the DC Democratic State Committee?
The District saw a big uptick in crime in 2015. As a result, the City Council and Mayor's Office are each proposing legislation to help keep our neighborhoods safe. The Ward 8 Democrats invites you to their General Body meeting on Saturday, February 20, noon to 2 p.m., where you can learn more about these competing proposals. The meeting is at RISE Demonstration Center at St. Elizabeths East, 2730 MLK Ave. SE. 
 
Are you interested in serving as a member of the DC Democratic State Committee (DCDSC)? If so, the Ward 8 Democrats will hold a special election for a new Ward 8 Committeeman to the DCDSC. To run, you must be a male Ward 8 resident who is a registered Democrat. You must complete a Statement of Candidacy which includes your name, mailing address, telephone number, e-mail address and statement affirming that you are a registered in Ward 8 Democrat. The Statement of Candidacy must be submitted to Mrs. Arnehl Lyon, Election Chair at Ward8DemsElection@gmail.com no later than March 1, 2016.
