Our boots were made for walking, and that’s just what they should do! Tread your way over to Logan Circle and 14th Street since both boast a slew of restaurants steaming with the hot stuff foodies love, affordability, fun and unconventional cool. Meeting up for an art opening? Going to the theater? Heading to the Dupont bars? Or looking to brunch after an exciting weekend? Don’t delay in visiting the following restaurants where there is always a crowd and the menus marvel. Logan Tavern – Owned by the Eat Well DC Group, this roomy restaurant has large tables for family style groups. Menu items include fried green tomatoes with peach relish & lime cream, horseradish-crusted rockfish with sun-dried tomato aioli, tempura mushroom and spinach, and the absolute best (that’s why it’s labeled so) BEST French toast with caramel pecan sauce and bacon. Eat outside on their patio, watch the cooks put together your meal from your seat inside, and be dazzled by their long list of menu items. Located at 1423 P St., NW. Call 202-332-3725 for reservations, and visit www.logantavern.com for further information. Stoney’s – The juiciest burgers with more toppings than DC has political pundits, Stoney’s is a laid back environment, without fancy fanfare, but tastes that fancy everyone’s palette. Re-opened right next door to Logan Tavern after a briefly closed period, return to savor their grilled cheese sandwiches, tap beers and fried food fantasies. Home cooking, comfort food and bbq galore. Check out their daily specials and happy hour half-price dishes. Stop by 1433 P St., NW, or call 202-234-1818. Rice – Elegant, calming, there is something regal about the decoration and space at Rice restaurant located on 14th Street. The owners also operate Simply Home Cuisine up the street and their talents combine an interesting mixture of innovation and tradition amongst their dishes. Enjoy their spaghetti with herbs, tahi anchovies, and crispy bacon or the chiang mai pork Sausages served with fresh herbs. And, if you’re a pad Thai addict, the menu has numerous noodle options including veggie, pulled pork and seafood. Located at 1608 14th St., NW. Call 202-234-4000, or visit www.simplyhomedc.com Merkado – With the success of Logan Tavern, Eat Well DC did the right thing by opening up a sister restaurant next door to its flagship. Mercado may be related to its neighbor, but its cuisine most definitely has its own personality. The menu offers seafood, Caribbean and the right staples to indulge in your lustings for Latin food. Try the lump crab, avocado and mango with sesame vinaigrette. Or on a romantic date for two? Indulge in the "Asopao," it’s a Puerto Rican paella rich stew of shrimp, scallops, mussels, calamari, chorizo, pork & chicken over rice. Feeling tradition but seeking some flair? Order the fried chicken in guava BBQ sauce with lime crema and mashed potatoes. Located at 1443 P St., NW. Visit www.logantavern.com, or call 202-299-0018 for more information.
