The preeminent National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden located on the National Mall will resume its Friday night “Jazz in the Garden” series, from June 3, 2005 through September 16, 2005 . Admission into the Sculpture Garden and jazz performances is free. An eclectic mix of prominent jazz artists will perform every Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. , rain or shine. The National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden was given to the nation by The Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation. The 6.1 acre sculpture garden on the Mall was created by landscape architect Laurie D. Olin, the Olin Partnership and key members of the National Gallery staff. The National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden is located on the National Mall in Washington , DC , at 7 th Street and Constitution Avenue, NW . The Jazz in the Garden concerts will take place in front of the Pavilion Café’ next to the grand reflecting pool and fountain. There are six public entrances to the Sculpture Garden . The Sculpture Garden is bounded by Constitution Avenue , the National Mall [ Madison Drive ], 7 th Streets and 9 th Streets, NW. The Sculpture Garden is positioned in the block adjacent to the National Gallery of Art’s West Building . The Pavilion Café’ will offer a seasonal light fare menu and cold beverages during the Friday evening performances. Picnickers are welcome to bring blankets. Alcoholic beverages and coolers are not permitted. National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden hours are extended to 9:00 on these Nights.
