The New Marion Park Playground Equipment is On Its Way

According to Frank Young, Facility Manager of National Capital Parks-East, the new equipment was ordered a month ago and should be arriving soon. Yippee, right? Well, there is one caveat. They are presently waiting for the installation of the equipment to be awarded. Until that award is given, a precise construction schedule cannot be determined. However, Mr. Young is hoping things will move quickly and the new gear can be installed sometime in late June. He has also been made aware of problems with the existing equipment, and is working with his maintenance staff to rectify the damages as soon as possible. Mr. Young notes there is a personnel shortage at the moment. If you would like to contact him directly with any questions or concerns about the playgrounds, he can be reached at: 202-690-5183 or Frank_Young@nps.gov.
